" No Name Calling "
"No Name Calling"

Honey, Toy, and Baby Girl was outside Coin Laundry playing jump rope. They had been waiting out there for over an hour waiting on Honey's mother to get finish with their laundry. Time was the last thing on either one of their minds, because they were having fun. Their fun lasted all the way up until the arrival of two unknown girls, that were with an older girl, who might have been there big sister, but was way too young to be their mother. The two girls stood along the sidewalk watching the girls jump rope. Honey tried to be friendly and respectful by asking the two girls if they wanted to play with them. One of the girls responded very rudely " Did we ask to play ? " "I I just thought you guys might wanna play since you were watching," Honey replied. That's when the other girl spoke more rudely than the first girl. She said " We don't wanna play with ugly people like y'all three ." Baby Girl dropped the rope and replied to the girls' comment, " Who do you think ya talking to ? " "You !" the girl answered. " You ion even know us to be calling us ugly," Toy said angrily. The girl then added more fuel to the flame. She said " I don't have to know you to see or call you ugly." Baby Girl was ready to fight by then, but then she knew it wasn't worth it and it wouldn't solve anything. Honey quickly came up with a solution. Honey pulled Toy and Baby Girl to the side where then two girls could not hear what they were saying. Honey was telling them to ignore their comments and just play rope like they were before, because those girls only wanted some attention, and Honey refused to let Toy or Baby Girl give it to them. She also knew they were trouble-makers by causing trouble within three minutes upon their arrival. As they were agreeing with one another to not say anything to the two girls, the two trouble-makers were shouting out stuff like " Y'all ugly people better not be talking about us either ! ." None of the girls responded. They just began jumping rope again. Baby Girl, Toy , and Honey all had smiles on their faces. The two girls were getting extremely frustrated listening to themselves. One girl got so mad, she threw a plastic bottle into the rope, thinking it would make the girls mad. The throwing of the bottle didn't do nothing except make two girls situation even worse. The two girls were bored and tired of listening to themselves, so they took a seat on the ledge along the coin laundry. One said to the other, " Why you think they ignoring us ? " The other girl answered, " Because they're actually two steps ahead of us." The other girl replied " Maybe we need to stop being so mean." The friend of the other girl said " Yea I totally agree, maybe we could still play with them if we changed our attitudes, " "Maybe " the other girl said. "Well, lets go try." The two girls approached Toy, Honey, and Baby Girl. Honeys' first thought was " They coming to cause more trouble or do some more name calling." The girls was taken by surprise. One of the girls who was causing trouble stepped up to Baby Girl and said " We're sorry for causing so much trouble and calling you guys names." Baby Girl replied, " What did we do to y''all to make y'all come off to us like that ?" "Nothing ", she replied. The other girl stepped in and said, " We had just moved into the neighborhood and we heard it was rough over here, so we thought if we act tough no one will think we're cowards". Toy said, " We don't judge people by sight, but the actions that were coming from you guys were very judgmental". The girl said with sympathy " We are very sorry, we didn't mean to upset y'all ." Honey responded, " You almost did !, but we are smarter than we look. We don't bother anyone ! " "By the way, I'm Maria, and this is my sister Tia," the girl started. " You guys don't act tough with us," Baby Girl said to Maria and Tia. Tia responded, " You all are not like the girls we know because they'll call us out our names back." "Every one wasn't raised the same." Toy replied. " By the way, my name is Toy, that Baby Girl and that's Honey. Please to meet you all," Tia and maria replied, " How 'bout playing a game of double dutch ?" Honey asked the girls. " That would fine," Maria said happily." I've learned my lesson for today, and that's not to do to others, as they don't do to you. New friendships could last a life-time," Tia said as she jumped in the rope.

"DREAMS"
Wallamelon Kids Story #09 (C) DKH Publishing
"Aah", Kiera screamed loudly awakening Ciera. What's wrong? Ciera asked Kiera. I had a bad dream I guess."That's why I tell you all the time, stop watching scary movies at night", Ciera replied. "I didn't watch a scary movie tonight", Kiera answered. Then what was your dream about? Ciera asked. I was older, I was grown. I even had a job Ciera. "What's bad about that?" Ciera asked. "It was more", Kiera added.
Tell me all about it since you woke me up screaming, Ciera insisted. "Alright", Kiera said eagerly, waiting to tell her story. This is what what I dreamed. "Tell me quick so I could go back to sleep", Ciera whispered. Girl listen! I was working for this law firm that represent clients for patents and copyrights protection. What's patents? Ciera ask.
You know when people invent an ideal, and don't want anyone to steal their ideal. They register for a patent with the United States patent, trademark, and copyright office. If it's a book, they've written, copyrights will be the appropriate form to fill out. "O.K., I get the point", Ciera said. Anyway, my boss assigned me to a patent infringement case. That's when someone violates your patent under the patent laws. I went home to study the case a little more, and that's when things start getting scary.
"What's so scary about studying for a case?" Ciera asked. My kids came in the den while I was studying. "Oh, you had kids?" Ciera asked with a smile. "Girl yes", Kiera said with a spoke out look on her face. They wanted me to cook dinner. "Did you have a husband?", Ciera asked. "No I didn't", Kiera responded sadly. It was just me and my two kids. "I still don't get what was so scary about your dream", Ciera said.
"Girl please", Ciera yelled. You seem like you were handling your business as a single independent woman with a good job to support your family. Also, just because you become an adult, have a family, and on your own doesn't mean you will lose mom & dad, nor me. We will always be there for you. Besides, I will love to have nieces and nephews or one of both, Ciera added.
"So you don't think anything was scary about that dream?" Kiera asked Ciera. No I don't! It was beautiful. You always wanted to be a lawyer. Remember when we use to play house? You always said that you wanted 2 kids. Something about your dream is telling you something. "You really think so?" Kiera asked. "Yes I do". I believe it's safe to say "some dreams are inspiring", and if you are a firm believer, "please believe that dreams do come true". Let's go back to sleep, I wanna have a scary dream.

"TRUE HUSTLE FOR A CHILD"
It was Saturday afternoon, and the temperature was blazing in the mid 90's. Twon felt that he could get his hustle on today, instead of playing. It was too hot to play,"he thought". His ideal was brilliant. So brilliant he thought no one else could think of what he was thinking. "A Kool-Aid stand". Twon just knew he'd make a lot of money selling kool-aid on this hot day.
Meanwhile Ciera was at home mad because Kiera didn't want to go out and play. Kiera felt like it was too hot to be outside. Ciera was bored and wanted something to do. She thought to herself, "a lemonade stand". Ciera rushed in the kitchen to see if they had any lemons. Two, on the other hand, was ready to start selling. He had made two pitchers of kool-aid.
Twon set up a table and stuck a sign to it saying, "kool-aid ,20 cents". Immediately kids start rushing to buy a drink. Twon was making money by the second. Twon sold his first pitcher within the first hour he was out there. He was excited! All of the sudden, he notice Ciera bringing a table outside.
After setting up her table, she placed a sign on it saying, "lemonade .15 cents". She saw Twon out there the whole time. She also seen kids rushing over to buy his kool-aid. Ciera had to think of a way to bet her competition. That's why she decided to make her lemonade .15 cents. Her strategy was to put Twon out of business, by lowering her price, and selling a better product. "Ice cold natural lemonade, with lemon slices". When the kids saw Ciera's lemonade stand, they flew to us buying cup after cup. Twon's smile turns into a frown.
Ciera had tripled amount of sales Twon had within her first 30 minutes. She also had made 5 pitchers of lemonade. Three out the five, she already sold. Twon quickly came up with a solution to get customers coming back to him. He changed his sign. He wrote, "2 for .20 cents". When the kids saw that, they rushed back over to Twon. Ciera was upset! That didn't last more than 3 minutes. Before all the kids purchased Twon's kool-aid, they'd notice that the first two kids weren't pleased about his drink.
They were complaining that the kool-aid was watered down. Being that Twon was out there an hour before Ciera, it gave his ice time to melt and water down the kool-aid. Everyone immediately ran back over to Ciera's lemonade stand for more. She was happy again. Twon took a seat and put his head in his lap, looking disappointed. Ciera didn't like what she was seeing. She didn't want Twon to be upset, because she sold more drinks than him.
Ciera made two cups of lemonade and walk over to Twon. She said, hey Twon, have a drink with me. "By the taste of this lemonade, I can't blame them", Twon said. "I tell you what", Ciera said. "we could mix what you have left with the 2 pitchers of lemonade I have left and be business partners". "That's cool", Twon said excitedly. They changed their sign; it said...
